Adventurous Amalner

AMALNER- A land of rich culture

Amalner is located at 18°56′N 75°20′E / 18.93°N 75.33°E. This beautiful city is a part of Jalgaon district in the state of Maharashtra and situated on the bank of the Bori River.

I got a chance to visit this place a few months back, I went with my Mother to attend a conference on Hindi literature. I went by Navajeevan express and of course with a delay. The first impression which got into me was very unpleasing. Later on, the people were kind and friendly. Not knowing Hindi, I must say that I had a blast during my stay. The culture and heritage were very rich and lively. The ancient temples are the jewels of the town. By stepping into each and every one of them, I must say the hard work and difficulties has surely paid off in making such marvellous monuments.

Even after coming back home, I couldn't forget the food of Amalner. The bright and bold flavours highlight their cuisine. Right from the first day the mouth-melting rotis and bhelpoori were my best companions during the stay. The everlasting memories linger in me and want me to go back once again.

I decided to share a few of my memories, browse through them and give your feedback.

Maharaj samadhi at river Bori: Trust me at present Bori river has no water but blessed with electrical wires running over the samadhi.Being my first visit to this holy place I was taken back by the vast land and the beautiful architectural work. The reflection of the three samadhi in the stagnant rainwater was a beautiful sight as such.

Have a glimpse of the whole town from this spot.

Way back to their homes!

Worshiping disfigured paintings of God: When I entered the temple, I was astonished to see a person worshipping a blemished image of Goddess. The most important thing I noticed was the trust which people have with the almighty although the image was vandalized.

Coins nailed-a rare belief in God: At first I was stunned to see a wooden rail which was hammered with hundreds of coins. Sure this much of money would have fed many poor persons who are starving for a meal. I think it is high time that people should start acting towards such practices from now on as the death toll rises each day due to starvation.

This innocent thing is considered holy in Amalner.

The Crown.

If you want to feel the real meaning of silence, I would recommend this spot.

Worshiping at its level best.

The priceless reaction of their first ever photo shoot.

Perk- Indeed A chocolaty treat for all.

The last flower.

Friendship is one mind in two bodies!

I'm pretty sure that this guy is looking at something. But he surely didn't pose for me.

Everyone is in a hurry for a click.

Light makes life beautiful!

An abandoned cart.

It is a vintage: the architecture and design are historical.

Save Water. Every single drop counts!!
